Organize Accessories with Shower Curtain Rings

Posted by

Running out of space for all your bags?

What can I say, I'm a bag kinda girl. I'd pass up a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes to get a new bag, my large bag collection- which to be honest is really more of an obsession- means I need clever storage that doesn't involve crowding the bags on a shelf in the closet.

Ready for this? I'm going to reveal my clever three step storage system that uses...wait for it...shower curtain rings!

Step 1: Shop at home to locate extra shower curtain rings.

Step 2: Create a chain using rings and hang it from the bar inside the closet.

Step 3: Slip bag or purse handles, as well as scarves and ties, into the rings.

1 My old shower curtain rings.

2 Make a chain out of the rings.

3 Hang the bags from the rings.

4 Also great for belts

5 ....and scarves.

How simple is that? You can see all the bags you own, you can easily get to just the one you want and you can customize the length of the chain based on how much space you have.

But if you're not like me and don't have a bag obsession you can still re-purpose these useful little rings. Keep accessories matched with outfits by simply slipping a single ring on a clothes hanger then use it to store the matching accessory. Here are two examples to get you started:

I know you'll come up with even more ideas, maybe a ring to hold a necklace that pairs with a blouse? I can't wait to hear how you use these helpful little rings.

  • you can use the shower rings to seperate jewelry, to keep sets together, or with a specific outfit (especially when traveling) and to keep necklaces from tangling.

  • If you don't have an extra set of curtain rings- try the metal book rings. These come in different sizes too!

  • why is a chain of rings better than putting the bags on the shelf? Do you have a picture of the "bag chain" so I could visualize it? I don't have many bags, but as the closet space is limited, and shelf space more ample, please explain how this unclutters the space?
