Name: Diane Ranger

Occupation: Founder, Board of Directors, and Consultant for Colorescience mineral cosmetics

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Who is your beauty inspiration? Susan Lucci, Diane Sawyer, Helena Rubinstein, Way Bandy

What product/treatment/beauty indulgence do you spend the most on? Lasers, fillers, and facials

What do you spend the least on?
Nail polish (I buff my nails)

What does age mean to you? It means the length of time I have been traveling on this journey called life, overcoming and enjoying the ups and downs, trials and tribulations and nurturing friends and family.

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve learned about skin/hair/nails/beauty this year? How to heal burns, welts and rashes with natural ingredients. We harnessed the combination of soothing minerals in our Sunforgettable products.

What’s the one thing you do (not product-based) that you think affects your appearance more than anything else? I walk four miles per day with weights. I blend herbal teas combined with red, black, white and red antioxidant teas to energize or relax or rejuvenate depending on the time of day and my body's needs.

Why naturals? I became interested in “natural” almost 35 years ago because so many cosmetic ingredients were being taken off the market because they were carcinogenic.  The more I learned about using iron oxides and other minerals for color ingredients, the more fascinated I became. I still believe zinc, tio2, and iron oxides make the most amazing and efficacious skin and color ingredient combinations ever! Pure essential oils are also fascinating and I love to blend at home with them. The results are often simply incredible, almost unbelievable. The industry has some great new scientific ingredients that have been introduced over the last twenty years.  Combining the science with natural is my greatest passion.
