I do lots of things to protect the earth even though I don't believe "global warming " exists. I know many people who claim they believe in global warming but don' t practice any energy savings in their daily lives. Just changing light bulbs doesn't make one "energy conservative" - you have to do a lot more.

I plan to replace the disposable pads on my spray mop with washable ones. Cotton chenille has the perfect texture for cleaning both our hardwood floors and no-wax surfaces.

@debra. of course we all would like for other people to do at least as much as we do to conserve energy. but... anything is better than nothing and anything a person does to "conserve energy" makes them "energy conservative".

One of the things that fascinates me about acting green is how many of the things that benefit Mother Earth also benefit me in another way. The obvious example is the cash staying in my pocket because I'm spending less on light bulbs. Having joined a community garden for $15, I will save many times that in the vegetable aisle of my grocery store and my veggies will be organically grown so better for me. The other benefit I will get over the summer is the workout while weeding, etc. and the extra time spent in the outdoors. Getting around the community on foot rather than using petroleum-fueled transportation gives me a chance to slow down and smell the flowers as I go about my business which helps me stay balanced. I also see and talk to other people along the street or in the stores that I might not have done previously.

I started using my resusable bags again..got away from it for a short time. Changed all the light bulbs a while ago. I reuse my foil as long as it's not completely dirty! Have taught my kids and others in the family what can be recycled, I just hate it when someone throws cardboard in the regular garbage!! I wish it were a law that you HAD to recycle and it was enforced! I try to do things everyday to help the Earth.
