Recently on Whole Living on Sirius XM 110, the daily radio show I host each day at 10a ET / 7a PT, we talked cheap, DIY spa treatments. And I mean cheap. Alexis Wolfer, founder of thebeautybean.com, says all you really need is a fridge full of leftovers. Serious.

I've heard the ol' eggs in the hair bit, for instance. But I had NOT heard that you could also swipe a single finger along the inside of a used egg shell and apply some of the residual egg white directly to your face--around your nose (or anywhere with enlarged pores) or under your eyes to tighten up skin temporarily. Just let it sit while you eat your eggs for breakfast and then wash it off in the shower.

A too-ripe banana becomes....an exfoliating and hydrating facial mask for acne-prone and aging skin If you have a banana that’s too ripe to eat, mash ½ ripe banana with 2 Tbsp plain Greek yogurt and 1 Tbsp honey and apply to skin, let it sit 5-10 minutes.

Flat, room-temperature beer becomes....a foot soak It's true: Soaking your feet in flat, room-temp beer helps loosen and remove dead skin cells from your feet. Fill a basin and stick your tootsies in there before exfoliating, pre-pedi.
