Challenge of the Day: Rethink That Diet Drink
Diet soda may be calorie-free, but a recent study suggests that there’s a catch. Researchers at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine found that those who drink diet soda every day were found to have a 61 percent greater risk of stroke. The cause is unknown, but the link is enough for experts to suggest no more than 1 to 2 diet beverages a week. For a fizzy, tasty, caffeine fix, try a mix of green tea, seltzer, and a little honey instead.

I agree, Catherine! We never buy pop - regular or diet. Its such a waste of money, creates a lot of waste and isn't even a little bit healthy!

This is the first thing that crossed my mind, too. I actually never had a diet soda in my life - something is very wrong with that concept.

I have multiple sclerosis. My diagnostic neurologist told me when I was diagnosed, some 25 years ago, that aspartame in diet sodas, or anything else, is linked to neurological problems.. I decided to make a change and stop all sodas.. dont know if this has anything to do with it, but Im still ambulatory after 25 years.. is this a quirk?.. I think not
