Slim Down with this Strawberry Smoothie

Strawberries are in full swing at the farmers' markets, which means, if you're like me, you're trying to incorporate them into every dish possible. This delicious smoothie is chockfull of antioxidants from strawberries and chia seeds. Have you heard of this ancient super-seed? Not only does it offer a slew of nutrients, it also has fiber and protein. Its mild flavor makes it an easy addition to smoothies, salads, oatmeal, and more.

Strawberry + Banana Smoothie with Chia Seeds

Serves 1

1 1/2 bananas, frozen
1 cup strawberries, frozen
1 cup water
1/2 cup almond milk (I recommend the Blue Diamond brand)
1 tablespoon of chia seeds
4 ice cubes

Combine bananas, strawberries, water, almond milk, chia seeds and ice into a good powerful blender until smooth and creamy. Pour and enjoy!

  • Awesome! I have smoothies like this just about everyday, adding in blueberries for eye health, and a bit less banana for me. I've recently taken a liking to Chocolate Almond milk - it's like having a chocolate-strawberry shake -- almost sinful :)

  • Yvonne! I know exactly how you feel. That Chocolate Almond Milk is delicious! I'm also quite partial to chocolate almond butter...I made it healthy by spreading some on an apple :>)
