Challenge of the Day: List Three Good Things
Positive psychology pioneer Martin Seligman, Ph.D., in his latest book, "Flourish," suggests the following exercise: Tonight, write down three things that went well today, be they big (you got a raise) or small (your kid said "I love you" unprompted). Focusing on negative events "sets us up for anxiety and depression. One way to keep this from happening is to get better at thinking about and savoring what went well," Seligman writes.

How about completing the challenge now?
I'm thankful for friends who offer me their cherries, not having to work outside on 100 degree days, and that I pushed myself to complete a tough workout this morning.

The Alpe D'Huez being won by a Frenchman in the Tour de France would start my good things for the day. Then there's the lovely weather we are experiencing, my ability to go jump in the lake shortly and, most important of all, my wonderful husband.
