2012 Action Plan: A Green Smoothie for Vibrant Skin

Posted by

I'm trying my best to eat lots of different kinds of greens this week. I like to try and vary the varieties that I use in my smoothies. This week, I found a beautiful bouquet of baby mixed greens. Green smoothies give you the chance to sneak in the dark leafy vegetables into your day that you probably wouldn't enjoy much otherwise. They're loaded with vitamins and minerals, antioxidants and blood alkalinizers for superior health and energy. They also help support younger looking, radiant skin---a perfect complement to a mission to reclaim your vibrant pre-holiday glow!

  • That sounds great! Can't wait to go to the store and I hate going to the store :-)
    Hugz!

  • I tried making/drinking/eating the kale, green apple and banana smoothie but it was just too awful. I was literally chewing it. I thought I had blended for long enough and then blended some more… Does anyone have any hints of blending greens?

  • A green smoothie a day keeps illnesses away! There isn't enough I can say about these drinks. I do 32ozs a day. I rotate my greens and fruit. Kale is wonderful, so is dandelion greens. I could go on and on and on.

I am now a happy raw organic vegan. 99.99% pure! And loving it!

  • @Sadah:

I made the smoothie in this post this morning and it worked great! I think the secret, though, is that it call for "tender greens"- ones that aren't super fibrous and thus easily pulverized. I suspect that the other recipes that call for kale and romaine are assuming that you have an industrial strength blender, like a Vitamix. I heard some other people saying that they've made it work by putting their greens through a juicer.
