If you’re like me, you’re scratching your head this week wondering where summer has gone! With one last summer weekend ahead before the unofficial start of fall, I’m celebrating with a festive brunch. And I think a refreshing smoothie that celebrates summer’s juicy watermelon and sweet cantaloupe may be just the way to kick off the party on the right note.
Double Melon Smoothie
Serving Size: 1 (~100 calories)
Ingredients
1 cup fresh watermelon cubes, frozen (ideally)
1/2 cup fresh cantaloupe cubes, frozen (ideally)
1 sprig fresh basil
1 cup water
1/4″ piece of fresh ginger, peeled
3-4 ice cubes

Watermelon – Health beauties love watermelon for its cooling nature and natural sweetness. Very often you will also find them juicing the watermelon flesh along with a small piece of the rind, which is rich in silicon and chlorophyll, a natural detoxifier.
Directions
Place ingredients into a good powerful blender until smooth and creamy. Thin with water or thicken with ice if desired. Enjoy!
