A small shot of Fire Cider is not exactly my idea of the perfect drink. I tend to like an icy cold glass of wine in a pretty shade of pink--especially this time of year. However, in an effort to out maneuver an irksome opportunistic bug, I am willing to go hardcore. Sinus infection. Scratchy throat. Weird phlegmy cough. The girls start school next week. My husband has jury duty. I’ll pass, thank you very much.
This brew is designed to stimulate and boost Wei chi (TCM speak for immune system). Its acrid nature helps deflect and defend, like some sort of internal Wonder Woman band. It's hardly for the faint of heart, but neither is motherhood. Drink up. Don’t breath on anyone.
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 inch fresh ginger, grated
1 inch fresh horseradish, grated
1 tablespoon black peppercorns, cracked
1 Thai red pepper, sliced
1 sprig fresh oregano
1 sprig fresh oregano
