This morning I had the pleasure of attending a panel discussion about toxins in household and personal care products with Deepak Chopra, Seventh Generation CEO John Replogle, and Breast Cancer Fund CEO Jeanne Rizzo.
One interesting tidbit: According to a study conducted by Seventh Generation and released today, nearly two-thirds of all Americans say they are "concerned" or "very concerned" about potentially harmful chemicals found in products.
Chopra, who believes that "the elimination of toxins awakens for the capacity for renewal," repeatedly stressed our responsibility to voice this concern so that manufacturers take note—and potentially respond by reformulating their products by swapping the petrochemicals for biobased ingredients. (Rizzo pointed out that Johnson & Johnson is doing just that!)
