I have basically stopped storing food in plastic containers. I’ve read one too many articles like this one about how toxic chemicals like endocrine-disrupting phthalates, organotins, and the carcinogen benzophenone can migrate from plastic packaging into the food and cause a variety of health issues. Scary stuff. My feeling is I might as well just avoid the plastic if I can. So I am always on the lookout for glass containers to store food and had to share my latest discovery.
Wean Green containers are made from tempered glass, which is four to five times stronger than standard glass, and even if it were to break, it doesn’t shatter. (I’ve already dropped mine several times and haven’t had any breaks.) And they come in several sizes, which is convenient for various leftovers. With the colorful tops, they're also cheerful additions to my kids' lunch bags.
