Nick Dodman, D.V.M.
Professor, Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine
Home: Westborough, MA
Bio: After graduating from Glasgow Veterinary School in Scotland, I came to the U.S. in 1981; my career path changed shortly thereafter, from veterinary anesthesiologist to veterinary behaviorist. As director of the Animal Behavior Clinic at Tufts University’s Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine, I treat pets with behavior problems, as well as teaching veterinary students and participating in clinical research. I’ve written several books on animal behavior, including The Well-Adjusted Dog, The Dog Who Loved Too Much, and The Cat Who Cried for Help, and I’ve served as a behavior expert for a number of television and radio programs. I am also a charter member of Veterinarians for Animal Welfare and a leadership council member of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. You can find more about me and my veterinary wife, Linda, at ThePetDocs.Com.
My Philosophy: Animals first.
If I weren't doing what I do now I'd be some kind of artist.
Favorite piece of advice (or "pearl of wisdom"): Never do to others what you would not accept for yourself.
