Shauna James Ahern is considered one of the most authoritative sources of gluten-free living. Her popular Web site, glutenfreegirl.com, was named one of the best food sites by Gourmet.com, Bon Appetit.com, and The London Times. Her cookbook, "Gluten-Free Girl and the Chef: A Love Story in 100 Tempting Recipes" (Wiley and Sons), written with her husband, Daniel Ahern, was named one of the best cookbooks of 2010 by The New York Times. Her book, "Gluten-Free Girl: How I Found the Food That Loves Me Back and How You Can Too" (Wiley and Sons) is now available in paperback. She currently lives on an island off Seattle with her husband, a professional chef, and their toddler daughter, Lucy. They are happy and sleep-deprived.
My philosophy: Yes. If I open myself to every moment, and say yes to what arises, then I'm surprised every time. Also, it makes life a lot easier, rather than fighting what is happening.

Favorite piece of advice: Focus on the people who are delighted by what you do. You can't please everyone. Trying to placate the angry people is a waste of time.
